This was a very exciting project for our clients as it was their first new build. They were developing a 4 bedroom family home with 3 bathrooms in a small rural Cornish village outside of St. Agnes. The property was built using an insulated oak frame construction, making it ideal for a heat pump system
Our clients specifically wanted underfloor heating throughout the property to give a luxury feel, however simple controls were preferred to make it user friendly. The architect had allowed plenty of space for the heat pump with a generously sized utility room.
In the meadow behind the property, 2 ground loops were installed within trenches with 1m separation, ensuring energy is collected at the highest possible temperature.
Trenches helped to keep down costs compared to drilling bore holes, whilst maintaining the high efficiency associated with ground source solutions.
Due to this system’s high efficiency we predict that our clients will save a significant amount of money on their energy bills compared to if they installed a traditional oil boiler. The clients have also benefited from the RHPP.
